On Thursday 21st January we held a meeting for parents to explain the changes that school has made to our Mission Statement. Evidence tells us that the most effective schools customise their curricular content and design it to provide appropriate and relevant learning experiences for their children. Our curriculum drivers are areas that we value as a school; they give focus to learning opportunities and are embedded throughout teaching and learning, developing the child as a whole.

Our curriculum aims to attain the right balance between what we must teach and the aims and values identified as specific to our school community. It is designed to be exciting, creative and fun, underpinned by our school’s values and based around our three “curriculum drivers”:-

  • Community
  • Arts and Culture
  • Aspirations

The School Council helped to host the meeting and confidently answered questions from parents. Many parents commented on how well the children were able to explain the Mission Statement and how it is reflected in their school life.
