We have had great fun in maths this week - enjoying the sun and getting a bit wet!

We have been looking at 'measurement'. On Wednesday we went outside to have a class competition to see who could throw the furthest. We threw our quoits and then measured the distance by 'pacing', 'steps' and using a metre rule. We discovered that we could only really compare our results if we used metres as this was a standard measurement. Congratulations to Jamie who threw a quoit a whopping 14 metres!

On Friday we got wet when we looked at solving problems using capacity. The children have started to use litres and millilitres to help them! Well done Year One!
