We have been celebrating the Queen's Birthday in style this week in Reception Class. We enjoyed making flags, placemats and party crowns in preparation for Friday's Birthday Tea Party. Everybody enjoyed taking part in our sponsored event 'Fit for the Queen' on Thursday and all the children completed all five of the activities successfully. We learned about the Queen and her role and about some of the other members of her family. The children also enjoyed role-playing with castles and dressing up as kings, queens, princes and princesses. The weather held off for long enough for us to enjoy the fantastic tea party with our families and the afternoon was rounded off with a rendition of the National Anthem and by  'Dance through the Decades' with the rest of the school. Phew! What a busy and fun few days. Happy Birthday your Majesty!
