We have had a brilliant 3 days celebrating the Queen's 90th birthday. In History we have looked at the changing role of the monarch, discussing what Queen Elizabeth can do in the role of Queen compared to monarchs in the past. We also looked at the Queen's family tree. We have learnt the National Anthem and Land of Hope and Glory.
On Thursday we created pieces of pop art in the style of Andy Warhol, designed our own stamps and coloured a union jack read for our party on the playground. We also completed our sponsord event. All the children managed to complete each activity.
Friday arrived and we were all hoping for good weather!! The rain stayed away for our picnic lunch, which was wonderful. Unfortunately we had to head inside earlier than planned for our dancing session. All the children and staff joined in with dances from different decades. It was very hot and sweaty in the hall, but great fun.
To end the three days, we watched a live stream from Windsor Castle. We learnt about the Queen's life and some of the jobs she has to do each day. We also found out lots of other interesting factsabout Her Majesty.
