Year 6 kicked off their exciting residential adventure today with an action-packed first day full of fun, challenge, and unforgettable moments.
After settling into their rooms and getting their gear ready, the pupils headed straight into their first big activities: climbing and the thrilling zip wire. For many, it was their first time doing something so high off the ground – but that didn’t stop them!
Pupils showed incredible bravery as they tackled the climbing wall, encouraging one another every step of the way. Even when it got tough, they didn’t give up. “I thought I wouldn’t be able to do it,” Heidi said, “but my friends cheered me on, and I reached the top!”
Next came the zip wire – and it was a definite highlight. With helmets on and nerves of steel, pupils climbed the tower, took a deep breath, and launched themselves through the air. The screams and laughter could be heard all across the site!
More importantly, today was a true test of resilience. Whether it was facing a fear of heights, trying something completely new, or getting back up and trying again, every single pupil showed determination and courage. Well except for Miss Watson who chickened out of the height challenge.
They’ve already shown such teamwork and resilience – and it’s only day one! We can't wait to see what else they achieve.
