This week, our Reception class had a fantastic time learning about Chinese New Year through a variety of hands-on activities!
The children explored a Chinese Curiosity Tuff Tray, filled with fascinating objects linked to the festival. They practiced counting money into lucky red envelopes, a tradition symbolizing good fortune, and used chopsticks to count out one more and one less, developing both their maths skills and fine motor control.
Another exciting activity involved Chinese number formation in sand, helping the children recognize and recreate traditional Chinese numerals. To top it all off, they took part in a noodle tasting session, where they had the chance to try different textures and flavors.
It was a wonderful way to immerse the children in a different culture while having lots of fun. Happy Chinese New Year!
