This term Y1 have been learning about Baptism in our RE classes. The children decided that they would like the class phonics puppet Joe to be Baptised. Because of this, Father Jordan kindly invited us to church, to learn more about the ceremony of Baptism, why it is so important to Christians and to take part in a Baptism for Joe. The children really enjoyed acting out the ceremony and playing the various different roles, Mum and Dad, Godparents and the other guests. They were also thrilled to sing to Father Jordan 'My Lighthouse', which they have learnt in British Sign Language. To celebrate Joe's Baptism, Father Jordan treated the children to biscuits, which the children were thrilled about.
The children have been so well behaved today, they really did show pride in our school.
