This morning, KS2 have had an exciting visit from a Greenpeace speaker who spoke to them about their topic of Global Warming.

In Years 3 and 4, the children learned more about plastic pollution and were shocked that the plastic we throw away in the UK ends up in Turkey and that children as young as 9 have to sort through it but it causes lots of health problems for them. The children also learned that the UK produces 96 billion pieces of plastic waste every year and it ends up  in the oceans which causes lots of harm to sea animals.

In Years 5 and 6, the children learned more about climate change and what is happening in the world due to humans producing greenhouse gases. They also learned that burning fossil fuels is a major concern as it causes climate change but they looked at ways they could reduce the use of fossil fuels to help slow down climate change.
