I know you will have all seen  the building work taking place over the last few months at the side of school.
This project to extend the school and create additional  space has been something, as headteacher, I’ve wanted to always do since becoming the head at Gillibrand  and I am so pleased and proud of the final result and the huge benefit I know this additional room will bring to the school and children.  The Woodlands Room will be a nurture room and will also incorporate a sensory area too. There is also a small kitchen  that will be used by all the children when baking and cooking ( instead of using the staff room!)
We plan to also use this room for the community and after school clubs and events too.
The exciting job of furnishing this room is the plan for this half term, and hopefully it will be ready to use fully by September at the latest, if not before.
A big thank you to Mr Thomas for the video he’s made showing the building of The Woodlands Room from the start in November to completion in May.
