KS2 had a wonderful day on Tuesday. We were extremely fortunate to have a visit from Dr Diane Davies, a Maya archaeloogist. She is the only female Maya archaelogist in the world!
Diane held an assembly for all the children. She discussed all the wonderful achievements of the Maya civilisation and explained her job.
Each class then had the opportunity to handle lots of Maya artefacts and make a calendar. Diane also answered questions about her job.
Diane commented on the excellent behaviour of the children and the wonderful community spirit of our school.
