This week in Year 2 we have started a new book called ‘The Pea and the Princess’, a twist on the traditional tale ‘The Princess and the Pea’. We started by making predictions on what we think will happen in the story by looking at objects from the book; a crown, a pea pod, a pea and a pillow.
We tweeted our ideas to the author Mini Grey who tweeted us back with some recipes to make from the book! The children were very excited by having a Twitter conversation with an actual author!
We then created some art, using rolled up paper to create mattresses and recreate a popular scene from the story. Have a a look next week to see the twisted recipes we create! You can also keep updated on our learning by visiting our class Twitter page at @GPSHolly
