The children in Oak Class have been thinking about harvest time and Harvest Festival this week. After reading the story 'Stone Soup', the children wanted to make some soup of their own. We harvested some cabbage, carrots and beetroot from our own outdoor area and everyone brought in a vegetable from home to add to our soup. The children all helped to wash, chop or prepare their vegetable for the pot. When it was ready, we all tasted it - it was delicious! Twenty two children liked it and eight children did not like it. The soup was so good, we invited Mrs Clayton to come and taste it. She liked it too!
We are also preparing for our Harvest Festival celebration next Friday 12th October at Trinity Church. We are learning some songs and making some props for our performance. Hope to see you there!
