Today, we started our new topic on the World Cup. Each child has picked a team to support throughout the sporting event and we have located all 32 countries competing using an atlas. The children were given the task to research the World Cup and with some fantastic prelearning facts and information from the children, this is sure to be a great topic. The children have been teaching me about the official World Cup song translated into English, information on the history of the competition, the percentages and chances for each team, a timeline of past winners, the Russian alphabet and we have even looked at a pair of signed boots from Neymar and Pele! What a great start to our new topic and hopefully the competition. Come on England!
