Animals including Humans

Our current topic in Science is: Animals including Humans.

Yesterday the children worked in small groups to explore the digestive system in a human body. The children created a model of how the digestive system works to show what happens to food when it enters the mouth all the way through to exiting our bodies.

Today the children had a modelling teeth challenge. The children worked in small groups. They were given different tools to represent the jobs of different teeth. They had tweezers, scissors, forks and plastic building bricks. They also had a banana and biscuits.

The children worked in groups to model the action of their teeth eating and chewing, using the different tools.

The children then identified the best tool which matched the functions of which tooth type – Incisor, Canine, Molar and Premolar.
