Today, year 1 visited Tesco Extra to take part in the 'Farm to Fork' initiative.
We walked to the store and got a little wet in the rain but we all arrived at the store with smiles on our faces! We had a tour of the store, learned all about the different fruits and vegatables on sale, tasted cheese, visited the largest warehouse and even went into the giant freezers. The freezers maintain a temperature of -21 degrees so we only stayed in the freezers for a few seconds! Brrrrrr! The children each received a 'goody bag' packed with charts and stickers to promote healthy eating.
The children all had a fantastic time (and it did not rain as we walked back to school).
