This half term we have been learning about the people who help us at home, at school and in our community. We have been learning the names and jobs of people in the school who help us every day and have toured the school in groups to get to know the staff and children in the juniors.
We have been fortunate to have a visit from Mrs Nelson who works as a traffic patrol person in the local area. She explained to the children about her job and reminded them about how to stay safe when walking on paths next to roads.
Last week we were visited by James who is one of the local police community support officers. The children were very excited to meet James who talked to the children about his role. He explained that his job is to help keep people and their property safe in our community. James explained to the children what to do if they ever get lost in a busy place. Remember to look for someone wearing a police uniform because they can help you.
